Against the richly layered green background, the recurring red cardinal rests quietly on his shoulder—vivid, watchful and unexplained. As throughout the Blue Cat Society Series, its meaning is never fixed. It may represent wisdom, instinct, hope, temptation or something entirely personal, inviting each viewer to discover a meaning of their own.
